As you may all know, writing is part of my minor curriculum. Having said that, I have spent majority of my time writing papers for different classes and working on my writing portfolio. I never thought it would be so much work to set up a writing portfolio, but this is 1/3 of the reason why I haven't been around Two Beans or Not Two Beans as much.
Although I am as stressed out as I can ever be, one of the benefits of writing classes is learning a bunch of new creative things. Recently, in my writing in civic engagement class, I was taught about the 6 word novel.
The 6 word novel is a way to describe your novel in just 6 words. I was utterly bewildered at first by this discovery and even more aggravated at having to do the exercise. How could I possibly write just 6 words to describe my novel? I have always been known to lack detail in my writings, but 6 words hardly describes anything, it's just preposterous! or so I thought...
So as I practiced the 6 word novel, I came up with a few not so descriptive words.
1) I partied, woke up, threw up.
2) Crazy life, but it's my life.
3) Creative writer, but have not created.
Of course, we only did descriptions of the novels, but some have actually written stories in just 6 words.

I am impressed with a few of the stories I have read and I recommend everyone to do this. Not only is it hard to come up with words, but the end result is always the fun part. Just like mine.
