Stupid Heart...Love is for Fairy Tale Characters

As I look at my surroundings, I realize that love has been tarnished. Nothing is ever as one plans it or dreams it. It isn't like the fairy tales you see on tv, where love always wins.

I know this, but my heart...Well my heart sees it differently.

I am aware that I talk about this subject often, but how could I not when love seems to be a main emotion? If you have ever read Barb's Heart in Love=Fail, then you know that the heart can be quite irrational when it comes to love.

My heart, however, is too much of a dreamer and believes that anything to do with love will always win in the end. Kind of like when two people who are madly in love with each other find one another in the end...

Take cinderella for instance, she's poor and has nothing, but with the help of mouses and a fairy godmother she ends up going to the ball and falling in love with the prince. Does it end happily ever after? Of course, it does.

Snow White was poisoned by her evil stepmother and yet the prince finds her, kisses her and they live happily ever after.

Each story ends like that unless we are talking about Romeo and Juliet, but even then their love was so strong that they decided to die for one another.

My heart, however, does not understand that this only exists on tv and in books. It believes that love can do it all. Love can set even the coldest heart free and change a person.

Yeah. Right.

Such beliefs has broken my heart a million times, when another person hurts me with no cause.

Oh stupid heart when will you ever learn that love is only for fairy tale characters?? Love cannot be for humans...don't you see how tarnished it is?

I hope someday my heart will understand.

(I think this also adds to my list as to why I hate February).

I Hate February

Not only is February known for the leap year day it has every four years, but it is also one of the months with the most relationships occurring.

So you can imagine how many times a day, I have spent pulling my hair out as I see half of everyone getting into a relationship. Every time I go on Facebook, my news feed seems to either be filled with tiny pink hearts or engagement rings. Now, it's not to say that I am not happy for these people, but if you asked me what it is that I envy the most, it would be people in stable relationships.

Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of being single and flirting around with guys, but at the end of the day I don't seem to have anyone to think about or anyone I would love to see every day.

Yes, I am a hopeless romantic that absolutely hates jumping from one guy to another (it always ends up bad). I dream with the day that a guy will absolutely sweep me off my feet and will fall madly in love with me.

(Okay not as cheesy...)

I've always heard never to rush anything and that sometimes when you least expect it, you find what you desire. It's true, it has happened to me before, but with time I have come to realize that the more I age, the more impatient I'm getting...

Did I happen to mention my birthday is coming soon?

Yes, my birthday.

It's not just ANY birthday, it's MY birthday and for those who are not aware, my birthday comes every four years. Meaning that I'll be turning 6 years old on February 29th.

So why do I hate February so much?

1) Half of everyone gets into relationships.
2) Half of everyone gets engaged.
3) While everyone has someone to hug at night, I just have my phone.
4) My birthday is this month and I hate getting older.
5) Chocolate sale after valentine's really doesn't do much for my waistline.
6) Another reminder that I'm not quite meeting my resolution goals...

Okay, so it could be worse, but for a romantic like me, this is just sad.

And now a word from my favorite show, Scrubs.

Gotta love rants sometimes.

This is Why Facebook Sucks

Most of you are probably on Facebook, and those of you who are not--GOOD.

Sure Facebook connects millions of people to each other, and it lets you chismosiar (Spanish for: to gossip) about every person you know. "Did you see, he's getting married to that skank!" or you end up finding out that the girl you dated in high school is now a lesbian and is engaged to your ex-fiance who magically turned into a lesbian after she had cheated on you with another man (or vice versa). Facebook also has the stalking feature as an added bonus for the ex-population, the guy who smells like a goat's ass that insists he is the man of your dreams, the girl who looks like a horse and doesn't get the clue you are not into her, and for those who have nothing much to do (like me).

Did I mention the games?? Oh yes how addicted I have become to the games. Wasting my precious time playing those games for I don't know about 5-6 hours, when I could be doing something useful like my homework so that I can graduate or work so that I can get money to buy myself a nice meal.

Anyways, my point is that though Facebook has some good to it, it also has some annoying, horrible malfunctions.

If you have ever been on facebook, then you will notice that you get this red little notification to the top left of the screen, alerting you of any new messages. Well as I clicked on the notification it took me to the message, but even after I had clicked on it, it would still not disappear. That notification was there for about 4 hours.

Another thing that seems to get on my nerves is when you can see everything the other person is doing...

Have you ever heard that Facebook can ruin a relationship? Well if you have not, it can. I've heard a few stories, and even I have had bad experiences with Facebook.

The following video is an example of just a few things that may actually happen because of Facebook:

Though it is very humorous, it is sad to say that couples have arguments over trivial things that tend to occur on Facebook.

Facebook also sucks because it has a whole movie about how it first started!! Not only is Facebook taking over the web, it is taking over the movie theaters. Even in movies that have nothing to do with Facebook, but you see it in the background somewhere...

Eventually I am going to start seeing Facebook on billboards and probably in Disney as one of the newest Disney characters.

Even with my complaints on Facebook and the Facebook taking over the world, I still want to see the movie. Crap...I think Facebook brainwashed me.
