My maternal grandmother, my only living grandparent, turned 81 years old yesterday. Mom and I placed one candle on the cake and began the traditional festivity of singing Happy Birthday.
This is how the event unfolded.
Perhaps if I were her age, I, too, would feel as hurried to make everyone shut up and eat my damn slice of cake.

Hhahhahahhaa frankly I tihnk that now. I hate the singing of happy birthday.
ReplyDeleteHeh heh. I think I've given you a strategy of what to do for your next party. ;)
DeleteGo Grandma! :o)
ReplyDeleteHellz yeah! :D
DeleteYeah I'm going to be like that if I get older.
ReplyDeleteIf you are lucky, your family won't force you to blow out a ton of candles.
DeleteMine is 90 and I've written about her before, as there's nothing more entertaining than the elderly who couldn't care less and don't "buy green bananas." Happy Birthday to yours!
ReplyDeleteThanks very much! Your grandma sounds like a hoot herself!
Deletehahah how adorable!
ReplyDeleteThank you. ^.^
Deletehahahahahahahahaha this seriously made me laugh! My nanna is coming to visit me in 3 weeks and I am SO excited!! Love Elle xo
ReplyDeleteI hope the visit goes well! :D

ReplyDelete-Hanny
I'll pass on the word to her!
DeleteHa! This story cracked me up. Love it.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that!
DeleteI actually threaten my friends not to tell the restaurant if we go out for my birthday. I'm with grammy. Let's just have cake!
ReplyDeleteCake for all! :D
DeleteI love opinionated grandmas. Mine demanded a shot of vodka when I announced I wanted a horse at my wedding...
ReplyDeleteXD I take it she's a woman who loves horses, eh?
DeleteThat is hilarious! When you're 81, you no longer have to listen to young people sing at you! I love it.!
ReplyDeleteThat's just one of the many perks of reaching that age!
DeleteHoly Moly, we were celebrating my dad's 80th on this day, too!
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated birthday to him! :D
