Funeral for a Laptop

We are gathered here today to honor the memory of a faithful laptop. The Lenovo model 4446 became victim to a sudden shot of electricity that zapped its very existence.

Our dear friend Lenovo model 4446 came into French Bean's life at a time when she was also recovering from the shock of her deceased Acer. Lenovo travelled with her to France and aided her with nearly everything she did. She wrote lesson plans, made folders that saved the precious photographs of the friendships she made, she even watched region 2 DVDs on it. Yet all of this has disappeared in a puff of smoke. We mourn the loss of our fallen friend's files, photographs and drawings that had been stored ever so carefully in its hard drive.

Well, what can we do at this point? Lenovo can only wish for us to continue living and be happy for the lives we lead.

The refreshments are in the back. We have water, soda, cookies, a cheese plate and a fruit tray arranged with strawberries, bananas, mangoes and papaya cubes. Those of you who brought your own booze, please pass some to French Bean because she's still having trouble coming to terms over the reality of her situation.

  1. Who brings papaya to a funeral, don't you know that's vulgar! Hehe, couldn't help drawing a parallel from the last post to this one in the hopes of lightening the somber mood or mourning.

  2. I now have mental image of you throwing yourself on the laptop coffin as it is lowered into the ground.

Try to remember the good times. Lenovo model 4446 would have wanted it that way.

  3. Thank you all for your kind messages. I'm sure that I will make it through this sad and difficult time in my life. *snif*

Apparently, leaving comments on this blog is a hit-or-miss game of Russian roulette: you are either lucky and can comment away, or you are required to log in when the settings are CLEARLY set to allow trouble-free commenting (sorry 'bout that, folks). If anything, the Facebook page is always a viable option. :) -Barb
